Polysulfide Sealant

STC Polysulfide Sealant is a high-performance sealant based on thiokol , the polysulfide sealant specially designed for insulating glass. It provides excellent adhesion, flexibility, and chemical resistance, making it ideal for sealing aluminum, glass, metal and other substrates. This 2K polysulfide sealant is highly durable, waterproof, and resistant to extreme temperatures, ensuring reliable performance for insulating glass unit(IGU).

Features of polysulfide sealant:

1.Cures at ambient temperatures to a tough, elastic and permanently elastic rubber like material.
2.Durable, good chemical resistance, remains unaffected by UV rays, ozone and weathering conditions.
3.Economical, easy to use
4.Non- sag in vertical and overhead joints
5.Excellent repairability property.

Storage of polysulphide sealant:

12 months store the polysulphide sealant in original unopened packaging at temperatures between 10-30 Degree Celsius.

How to Use:

  1. Surface Preparation: Clean and dry the surfaces. Remove dust, oil, or old sealant. Apply primer if recommended.
  2. Mixing: For polysulfide sealant, mix base and curing agent in the correct ratio (usually 10:1 by volume) until uniform.
  3. Application: Apply with automatic dispensing system into the IGU.
  4. Tooling: Smooth within the tack-free time using a spatula or similar tool.
  5. Curing: Allow 3 days for full cure at 25°C and 50% RH.
  6. Cleaning: Remove uncured sealant with solvent; cured sealant can only be removed mechanically.
