hot melt insulating glass butyl sealant

hot melt butyl sealant

STC FS200 is a single-part hot melt butyl sealant for the production of insulating glass units. The hot melt insulating glass sealant offers superior performance, productivity and durability over comparable IG sealant technologies. FS200 hot melt insulating glass sealant has an excellent adhesion to glass, aluminum spacer, common foam spacer moisture barrier films and galvanized steel spacers.

Features of hot melt butyl:

• Fast gunning, quick curing
• Fast setting for immediate handling and timely glazing of insulation glass units
• Very low vapor permeability for long life and extended fill-gas retention
• Long term storage life up to 2 years
• Solvent free

Packing:

2.0kg, 3.0kg, 6.0kg, 8.0kg box, 200L drum, customized box

Surface Preparation:

To achieve optimal performance, ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or any other contaminants. Only use coated glass that requires edge deletion, strictly following the instructions provided by the glass manufacturer.

Application:

Recommended extrusion temperature: + 374 °F (175 °C ) to + 365 °F (185 °C).
Apply the hot melt insulating glass butyl sealant using a suitable heated dispenser. It is crucial to maintain the recommended application temperature; we advise checking the temperature daily at the applicator nozzle with a digital thermometer during use.

Ensure that the hotmelt butyl sealant fully wets the glass and spacer within the insulating glass unit cavity. When using an internal locating nozzle, check it regularly to prevent excessive wear, ensuring the correct seal depth is maintained throughout the application.
